Americans watched more television than ever in 2010, according to the Nielsen Company. Total viewing of broadcast networks and basic cable channels rose about 1 percent for the year, to an average of 34 hours per person per week (NYT).

The average workweek for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls held at 34.3 hours in November. ... The average workweek for production and nonsupervisory employees on private nonfarm payrolls decreased by 0.1 hour to 33.5 hours (Bureau of Labor and Statistics).
