As my friend Cary said, it is now obvious that Phillips' "talent evaluation" skills are severely lacking.
ReplyDeleteAlso related: interesting tidbit last week from Keith Law about how Phillips once offered to trade a then-19 year old David Wright straight up for Jose Cruz, Jr., and Ricciardi passed. I'm not sure who looks worse in retrospect.
how do the mets not fire manuel and rectify phillips' mistake of getting rid of valentine. my prediction: with valentine, the mets win the division. without, they miss the playoffs.
