  3. i'm happy to have k-rod and this signing is mostly just a reaction to blowing it in the santana sweepstakes a year ago. and to think the yankees didn't want to give up ian kennedy.

  4. Old times indeed...2000, Yanks sign Mussina (best available free agent pitcher), Sox sign Manny (best available free agent slugger). Now that both deals have finished, Yanks sign C.C., Sox will sign Tex.

p.s. I'm hoping beyond hope that the Yanks sign Burnett. What a waste of a 5-year big money deal that guy is going to be. Maybe not as bad as Pavano (he was a pretty epic case), but he's only been healthy for one full season, and really only good in like every 3rd season.

p.p.s. I predict Lowe to the Phils.

p.p.p.s. Generally speaking, pretty good trade by the Mets to get Putz to pair with K-Rod.

  5. Yeah, I want nothing to do with Burnett. He's sick when he's healthy, which is never. It is nice to have the luxury of a limitless payroll that the Yanks, Sox, and Mets have.

Or, that the Mets *should* have, though now Minaya is talking as if they have budget constraints. They still need a SP and a legitimate corner OF, and Ibanez is gone, so...Pat Burrell and overpay Ollie Perez?

  6. I think technically Bernie Madoff now owns the Mets. Or maybe he sold them to the UAE for last Christmas' coke money.
