  1. i am ready.

how about a triathalon event that involves grimaldi's pizza, crossing the manhattan bridge, and - in a way yet to be determined - chinatown.

  3. I have no objections to that weekend. The Mets will be at home, but I'm not on the clock over the weekends, so I don't think I'll be required to be at the stadium.

  8. I've planned my next trip back in coordination with the JJ8 Olympic Committee. Expect Gabi and me to bring Mexican wrestler-level intensity. In fact, we may wear Mexican wrestler masks.

As for events: egg toss, Taboo, air hockey, scavenger hunt, Game Boy Link Tetris...?

  9. Okay, I think the scavenger hunt was huge last time. We need some brainy ones. I think the newlywed game was good. We need some good new physical challenges. I'm thinking obstacle course. This could be huge. I like the notion of a Wii category since you can do pairs.

  10. Mattie-o, don't forget the Raiders' style shot-taking. I'm challenging you first.

  11. Matt, I assume Shatraw will be flying in for the occasion.

  12. Also, Sheila's contribution was key last year. I can ask her to put together the list for the scavenger hunt.

what about a chug competition tag-race? or a slam-poetry competition using pre-selected lines from jj8 blog?

would recommend smaller scavenger hunt though. are all the pairings settled?

  15. Video game-wise, I think Tetris is more appropriate than Mario Cart. I think it's more universally inclusive, and still fun...and Schwartz owns a copy.

  16. Also, I like the idea of a biathalon or triathalon (i.e. combo events).

  20. my vote is for horse, since i probably wouldn't be able to play a game of 2 on 2...

    i am ready.

  21. Good call on Horse. That would level things out a lot.

Also, a principle we used last time, which I think we should use again, is no events that are judged subjectively. So no dance contests or bake-offs or what-have-you. We need clear winners and losers, otherwise this will just devolve into argument.

  22. The downside to Tetris is that one game between two competent players could take an hour.

    Wii Bowling is a must.

  23. Chaucer-
Dance dance revolution is a win or lose game. you step on a series of panels (think disco floor) according to what a computer screen tells you. I think you end up with a score.

    DDR in, Baking out!

    Wii IN

    Horse IN
