Gmail Hackers

Just an FYI:
Apparently it is possible for someone to hijack your web-session Gmail via cookies and sniffing, etc. Google has already set up a fix for this, but you have to turn it on. If you don't care to know any more, you just need to open your Gmail and do the following:

1. Click on "Settings" in the upper right hand corner
2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu under "General"
3. Under "Browser Connection" select "Always use https"

I've Had a Dream

And in this dream Barack Obama was using the JJ8 blog as a gauge for how well he was getting his message out. Wishful thinking or not so far from reality?

Of course, also in this dream, Jon Master so impressed Obama with his political analysis of some fictional person that I invented in the dream that Obama wanted to hire him to help run his campaign, so take that for what it's worth.

According to my sources, yesterday was the last ever broadcast of Mike & The Mad Dog. Russo's leaving for Sirius, Francesa's staying to be fat by himself.

Summer Bucket List

Morgan Freeman's car accident and subsequent divorce serve as useful reminder. And as much as I frequently bemoan the lack of shared history in the 00s - Obama's candidacy aside - the next few weeks, I suspect, will have a few moments that stick around.


In Morgan's honor, the remainder of the summer bucket list:

1) The stadiums (Shea in particular). Anytime. Maybe this weekend, Mets v Marlins. Saturday or Sunday 7PM starts. Yankee - Sol, I need you there. Pick a day. I'm still confused why Yankee fans let them tear down Yankee Stadium but Shea is like an old dog that needs to be put to sleep. We'll miss you old pal.

2) Bob Dylan in Brooklyn (at the Bandshell!) Sort of Free! Tuesday, August the 12th. To get inside the venue you need to shell out $50+ but sound quality is good outside and if we get there early enough a BBQ can be commandeered. I don't suspect too many easier opportunities to hear Bob Dylan will present themselves.

3) McCarren Pool. Built in 1936 this pool is 6 Acres, it was shuttered in the early 80s because of disrepair/budget cuts and re-opened a couple of years ago for concerts. Next year the Parks Dept. intends to restore the pool, so this will be the last summer of concerts (I think). McCarren feels like a slice of the '00s. Sunday is The Felice Brothers (know nothing about them) and next Sunday is Aesop Rock (three & 1/2 stars).

4) 5 Year Anniversary of the Blackout. Thursday August 14th. I imagine there will be blackout themed parties all over town, perhaps we should have one as well. No electricity allowed.

i think another BBQ in the park is in order. sunday was too much fun. takers?

Good thing I'm not Bald...

...because then I might be offended. I just received a Vandelay Industries t-shirt (as seen in the picture below), addressed to me at work, i.e. Shea Stadium. No idea who sent it, which makes this a little creepy, but still somewhat humorous. So to that person I'll say...good one.

In honor of the craptastic levels to which the campaign has sunk...
