From the Desk of Honeyknuckles

I've been meaning for some time to post a bit of an update regarding Washington Heights Free Radio, and now that Jules and Adz are requesting playlists, it seems like the ideal time to kill two birds with one stone.

If you click on the title of this post, it'll take you to the recently awesomized WHFR.org, where you can stream, download, and comment on the last year+ of my radio shows. Each show (with some exceptions) has an accompanying playlist listing the songs played.

You can also follow the "ON AIR" link in the top right tonight at 8 EST and listen live to my Sol & Ashley wedding mix tribute show thing what-have-you, and/or wait a few days for the archive to become stream- and download-able.

I'll also add that this coming Tuesday, and the first Tuesday of every month, is WHFR night at the Ding Dong Lounge on 105th and Columbus, in which a few of my fellow DJs and I take over the turntables and gorge ourselves on beer. It's a trek for most of you, I know, but if you're in the mood for dimly lit Ms. Pac-Man and sweet jams, I can't think of a better option.

Rock on with your bad selves,

DJHK

A welcome back nut punch.

I just saw Pearl Jam in a Target commercial.

MONKEY PUSHES WOMAN WHO WOULDN'T SHARE OFF CLIFF

CHINA, SEPTEMBER 19, 2009: A woman has suffered a broken hip and three fractured ribs after a monkey reportedly pushed her off a cliff.

Zhou Juchang, 60, was rescued from rocks at the bottom of the 7m cliff following the fall at the Chengdu Wildlife Park in southwest China.

Now she’s suing her travel agent, who organised her trip into China’s Chengdu Wildlife Park.

The monkey allegedly flew into a rage when the woman refused to hand over the bag of monkey food which her tour guide recommended she buy.

A spokesman for the park said the woman’s mistake was showing fear.

“If you show fear a monkey will bully you,” he told London’s Metro.

Not so much for the kids

I was *almost* convinced that I dreamed this joke lo those many years ago. God bless you, youtube.

9/11

I'm not sure how many of you were friends with Tyler Ugolyn. Given the date, though, I thought I'd post an old piece about him from SI in '01.

A little something for all the dance lovers out there

This kid has a whole series of dance videos. The ass-slap is definitely a signature move, but he's packing a real arsenal...there's even one where he starts out pretending to be an old man, then throws away the cane to start dancing. He's definitely gunning for an appearance on season 15 of America's Best Dance Crew.
