White Rabbits Bowery Ballroom

So, the next White Rabbits show is officially sold out. (next wed) So....I think I need to start this next round of harassment even earlier. White Rabbits will be playing their next NYC show at the Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, June 2nd. (They'll be on tour around the country between now and then) The Bowery shows usually sell out, so I'm buying my ticket and Josh's ticket today. You guys should do the same so you don't get left scalping the night of the show. I'm attaching the link to the bowery website for tickets. :) Tickets are $15.

Attention Airheads

Calling all fans - or, rather, one fan - of lugubrious lounge music:

Air, everyone's second favorite gay French electronica duo (Daft Punk 4 ever!), are playing the Theatre at MSG on Thurday April 10th at 8PM.

I have a plus one, so first person to email me at mburnettelemon@gmail.com gets it.

Places to Enjoy

Ashley and I went to two places last night...we enjoyed both of them. We think all of you would enjoy them as well.

First place:
http://www.blacksheepbrooklyn.com/

This place was a nice quiet place right off of 5th Avenue. There is foozball, a jukebox, and a 60'' Projection Screen on the back wall. There is also a quiz night there on the last Wednesday of the month. Winning team of 4 takes the pot.

Second place:
http://www.alchemybrooklyn.com/

This is a wonderful new place on 5th avenue. Great selection of beers. Our favorite was Blue Point Spring Fling. They give you complimentary fried chick peas. We had the cuttlefish with chipotle mayo to start...it was delicious. We both had burgers on an onion brioche, with shallot confit, cheese, and french fries. A very good burger!

Hope you all get a chance to visit. :)

Recommendations Needed

There is a new section that I am adding to the blog. I think it might cool to have.

I would like everyone's suggestions regarding websites or blogs that they love.

Sharing is caring...

Please post the URLs/addresses that you enjoy...and I will add them to our blog.

Who needs med school?

J-Ro, time to put a stop payment on your tuition checks. My friend's girlfriend just posted this on MySpace:

Hey Everyone,
I'm selling my beloved Rhodes. PLEASE REPOST THIS if you have a lot of music/band friends!!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Mark I Suitcase Rhodes from 1977,

88-key, gorgeous warm tone, exceptional bass sound, harp cover, 100W amp (2 50W speakers) – sustain petal, 2 vibrato effects (rate&intensity), accessory jacks functioned as a send and return for effects loop, trbl/bass EQ sliders.

Good condition. I barely drove her around the block once a week to the grocery store and back.

Sweet leather seat and headphones included.

Ben is Young

Just a smattering of glorious moments this weekend in honor of Ben's persistent and everlasting youth:

Hungry Marching band surprise, PBR, dancing monsters on stilts, drag queens, clown/dog/pigeon drag in Queens, matsoh ball- smelling sausage at Shea, Patron shots, MEAT, long walks under the elevated on Roosevelt Ave, turbans at Shea, belly shots, the requisite near-arrest of Ben, blowing out the (non)birthday cake, and....love.

reflections from the sick bed

to brace myself for the storm of bacteria invading my body i went to the brooklyn public library last night and took out three movies and two books. last night i watched buffalo '66. for some reason i had been avoiding it since it was released but it turns out to be quite good. afterwards, my curiosity about vincent gallo piqued, i turned to google. the man, based on buffalo '66, was a good actor, director, screenwriter, songwriter in addition to being a former motorcycle racer. a fairly impressive set of credentials.

anyway what i stumbled upon was: http://www.vgmerchandise.com/misc.html. a website where vincent gallo not only offer trinkets for sale but also offers up himself for a night or weekend to:

Heavy set, older, red heads and even black chicks can have me if they can pay the bill. No real female will be refused. However, I highly frown upon any male having even the slightest momentary thought or wish that they could ever become my client. No way Jose.

he charges 50K for the night. wasn't sure what to make of it.
